About the Role & Team

Disney's Direct to Consumer team oversees the Hulu and Disney+ streaming businesses within Disney Entertainment helping to bring The Walt Disney Company's best-in-class storytelling to fans and families everywhere.

Disney's Technical Account Management (TAM) team within Disney's Direct to Consumer (DTC) organization are thought and innovation leaders in collaborating with partners across Disney+, ESPN+, and Star+. We are strategic leaders in fostering positive relationships to support Disney Streaming's product and technology initiatives across global distribution partners such as top mobile, connected device, consumer electronics, consumer electronics, operators (telco's wireless, pay, MVPD's), and other distribution partners.

Reporting to the Director, Technical Account Management, we are currently seeking a Sr. Technical Account Manager to join the TAM team. The Sr. Technical Account Manager (TAM) coordinates all technical aspects of Disney's partnership with distributors, by collaborating with business development teams to onboard partners, promote the product offering, and develop and implement platform features to support distribution strategies.

What You Will Do

The Sr. TAM bridges the gap between business, product, and technology by overseeing technical relationships with Disney's internal and external partners. They will serve as a liaison and main contact for distribution partners and our technical and product teams, and will lead integrations, conduct technical due diligence on new platforms, and shape partners' future roadmaps.

In this role, regional and global responsibilities often entail collaborating with partners and internal teams in various time zones. A proficient TAM should be adept at working with geographically dispersed teams and may need to travel within the US and internationally. Particularly for this role - this TAM will work with our regional TV (MVPD) and operator (telco, broadband, and mobile) partners in the LATAM regions.

The ideal candidate will possess a deep passion and extensive expertise in digital media and video streaming solutions, is proficient in leading cross-functional teams in intricate technology integration projects and has familiarity with application development across diverse platforms. Equally crucial is a proven history of developing positive relationships with external third parties and internal Disney product, technology, business, and executive stakeholders.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support TAM Director in owning the day-to-day relationships with third party partners ensuring delivery of successful integrations and platform launches.
  • Establish positive and strong relationships with global distribution partners to identify new capabilities, features, and requirements to provide implementation recommendations to internal business, product, and technology teams.
  • Educate and advocate persuasively for DTC product and technology interests to third-party distribution partners.
  • Lead requirements identification and technical integrations with third party distribution partners vital to align with business objectives.
  • Collaborate with internal product and technology collaborators to identify challenges and blocking issues that require resolution with third party partners.
  • Collaborate with internal legal, sales, and business development teams to drive distribution deals to support product and technology goals.

Required Qualifications & Skills:

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in a technical or product account management role.
  • Spanish or Portuguese proficiency.
  • Vast experience in orchestrating complex end-to-end technology integration launches for digital media and streaming video (live and VOD) solutions.
  • Detailed understanding of live and VOD streaming video solutions for OTT and Direct to Consumer services.
  • Deep understanding of streaming media consumer electronics (CE) devices and platforms (e.g., web, mobile, connected devices, living room devices, set top boxes, etc.).
  • Experience working with third party consumer electronics (CE) partners, technology partners (SoC, middleware, STB OEMs, etc.), and platform distribution partners.
  • Experience in video streaming technology (video playback, encoding, packaging, DRM, CDN, etc.)
  • Outstanding customer relationship and account management skills, including the ability to influence and advocate for Disney Streaming's product and technology initiatives, as well as uncovering implementation requirements.
  • Strong communication skills demonstrated through effective verbal, written, and interpersonal abilities, including translating complex technology requirements into business impacts and vice versa.
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical ability to investigate complex challenges, determine solutions, and provide recommendations to product, technology, business, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ability to uncover the true business objectives and technology requirements to drive towards successful launches with each distribution partner.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working for or with regional or local MVPDs, Pay TV/IPTV providers and/or telcos preferred.
  • Experience utilizing Google Suite (Sheets, Slides, Docs, etc.) is a plus.

Required Education

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or equivalent years of technical experience within product, media, video streaming, or related field.

The hiring range for this position in Glendale, CA is $124,000.00 to $166,000.00 per year, and in San Francisco, CA is $135,800.00 to $182,000.00 per year, and in New York, NY is $129,900.00 to $174,100.00 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
