Our challenge

We are looking for a skilled Kafka Admin with strong Python scripting experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of Kafka architecture and administration, as well as experience in designing, configuring, and managing Kafka clusters. In addition, the candidate should have expertise in Python scripting to automate tasks and streamline processes.

Additional Information - New York Only*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors.

In accordance with New York law, the base salary for this role if filled within New York is $115k - $125k/year & benefits (see below).

The Role

Responsibilities :
  • Design, configure, and manage Kafka clusters to ensure high availability and performance.
  • Monitor Kafka clusters and troubleshoot issues as they arise.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python to streamline administrative tasks.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of Kafka into existing systems.
  • Implement best practices for security, data governance, and compliance within Kafka environment.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in Kafka technology to continuously improve system performance and reliability.


Requirements:

You are:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in Kafka administration and architecture
  • Strong proficiency in Python scripting for automation and task management
  • Experience with Kafka monitoring tools such as Confluent Control Center or Prometheus
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
It would be great if you also had:
  • Certification in Kafka administration or related field
  • Experience with other streaming platforms such as Apache Flink or Spark Streaming
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
