Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant with a strong background in private credit to join the finance division of a leading alternative asset manager. This position will play a critical role in managing core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, month-end close processes, and tax/audit coordination. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of private credit accounting and demonstrated experience working within a structured finance or alternative investment environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for entities involved in private credit investments.
    • Ensure accuracy of entries related to loan interest, fees, repayments, and fair value adjustments.
  • Month-End Close Activities:
    • Perform and review journal entries, accruals, and reclasses as part of the monthly close cycle.
    • Conduct variance analysis between actuals and forecast/budget to support management reporting.
  • Financial & Investor Reporting:
    • Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements for private credit entities, including structured finance vehicles.
    • Support creation of investor-level financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
  • Compliance & Audit Coordination:
    • Collaborate with tax advisors and external auditors during quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
    • Ensure regulatory compliance and proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA designation preferred or in progress.
  • 8 10 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in:
    • Private credit
    • Debt funds
    • Structured finance or alternative investments
  • Proven ability to manage complex accounting environments involving multiple entities or SPVs.

Technical Skills:

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle Financials, or similar platforms.
  • Familiarity with investment entity accounting standards (e.g., ASC 946, ASC 820) is a plus.
