Job Title: Corporate Accountant Private Credit Focus

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Corporate Accountant with a strong background in private credit to join the finance division of a leading alternative asset manager. This position will play a critical role in managing core accounting functions, including general ledger maintenance, financial reporting, month-end close processes, and tax/audit coordination. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of private credit accounting and demonstrated experience working within a structured finance or alternative investment environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Ledger Maintenance:
- Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts for entities involved in private credit investments.
- Ensure accuracy of entries related to loan interest, fees, repayments, and fair value adjustments.
- Month-End Close Activities:
- Perform and review journal entries, accruals, and reclasses as part of the monthly close cycle.
- Conduct variance analysis between actuals and forecast/budget to support management reporting.
- Financial & Investor Reporting:
- Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements for private credit entities, including structured finance vehicles.
- Support creation of investor-level financial reports, including income statements and balance sheets.
- Compliance & Audit Coordination:
- Collaborate with tax advisors and external auditors during quarterly and annual reporting cycles.
- Ensure regulatory compliance and proper documentation of accounting policies and procedures.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred or in progress.
- 8 10 years of corporate accounting experience, preferably in:
- Private credit
- Debt funds
- Structured finance or alternative investments
- Proven ability to manage complex accounting environments involving multiple entities or SPVs.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and financial modeling.
- Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Oracle Financials, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with investment entity accounting standards (e.g., ASC 946, ASC 820) is a plus.
