AI Engineer (Onsite/Remote)

We have an immediate need for a contract AI Engineer to join a leading dental business support organization. The AI Engineer will leverage their expertise in machine learning and software development to design, build, and deploy optimized AI solutions that drive real-world business results.

Location: Mission Viejo, CA; onsite preferred but remote working Pacific hours is fine

This job expects to pay about $65 - 80 per hour plus benefits.

What You Will Do:

• Collaborate with data scientists and product managers to understand AI project requirements and define technical specifications.
• Design, develop, and implement AI algorithms using machine learning and deep learning frameworks (TensorFlow).
• Train and optimize AI models on large datasets (Snowflake dataset, labelled images), ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and scalability.
• Integrate AI models into existing systems and applications using software engineering best practices.
• Develop and implement unit tests and performance metrics to ensure model robustness and reliability.
• Monitor and troubleshoot AI models in production, identifying and resolving performance issues.
• Stay up-to-date on the latest advancements in AI and machine learning research.
• Document code and development processes for maintainability and knowledge sharing.
• Communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.

What Gets You The Job:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Advanced Statistics, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Minimum 3 years of experience in designing and developing AI models using machine learning libraries.
• Strong proficiency in programming languages like Python and experience with deep learning frameworks.
• Experience with cloud-based platforms (e.g., AWS, Google Cloud Platform).
• Understanding of software development methodologies (e.g., Agile, DevOps).
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
• Preferred: Experience with specific AI applications relevant to the Medical / Dental / Insurance Industry.
• Preferred: Experience with Rust, JavaScript.
