Overview:
The Information Security Specialist will play a vital role in developing and maintaining a secure and defensible environment capable of detecting, containing, and responding to data security threats. This position supports the security posture of a collaborative, fast-paced organization that embraces early adoption of cloud technologies. The focus is on embedding modern security practices into daily operations while enabling the business.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and manage a company-wide security awareness program with measurable behavioral impact.
Collaborate with Service Desk, HR Learning, Privacy, and Compliance teams to develop and deliver engaging security and data protection training.
Monitor current security events, assess their relevance, and communicate timely internal updates.
Develop and distribute awareness materials in partnership with the Information Risk Management (IRM) team.
Clearly communicate security policies and standards to technical and non-technical audiences across departments.
Implement real-time awareness capabilities based on incident response and risky behavior triggers.
Design and deliver targeted security training via LMS platforms and in-person sessions.
Reduce risks tied to sensitive information workflows by designing appropriate training and mitigation strategies.
Launch awareness campaigns, including National Cybersecurity Awareness Month, phishing simulations, and newsletters.
Define and track metrics to evaluate the success of awareness campaigns and the broader security program.
Actively support incident response efforts by contributing to threat identification and mitigation activities.
Qualifications:
Experience:
8+ years in Information Security
3+ years focused in Security Awareness
Prior leadership or management experience required
Skills:
Strong verbal and written communication across all organizational levels
Ability to simplify complex security topics for a variety of audiences
Excellent organizational and stakeholder management skills
Proactive and self-motivated, capable of independently leading initiatives
Knowledge & Certifications:
Familiarity with PCI DSS, GDPR, and other compliance standards
Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or GIAC preferred
Strong writing and content development skills
