Description

We are looking for a dedicated Student Support Specialist to join our team in Hartford, Connecticut. In this role, you will provide essential technical assistance to both students and faculty, ensuring seamless access to learning platforms and resources. This is a long-term contract position, ideal for someone passionate about education technology and end-user support.

Responsibilities:
Assist students with accessing and navigating platforms such as Canvas, Populi, and Zoom, addressing any technical issues they encounter.
Provide troubleshooting support for single sign-on systems and assist students with library access through the designated portals.
Guide faculty members in effectively utilizing Canvas, including publishing content and maintaining communication with their students.
Offer regular check-ins with faculty to ensure they are prepared for the start of the academic term and have successfully communicated with students.
Support faculty members who are less familiar with technology by providing hands-on assistance and training.
Monitor and resolve access-related issues for students and faculty in a timely manner.
Collaborate with the library team to streamline troubleshooting processes for students accessing academic resources.
Deliver end-user training sessions to enhance proficiency in using educational platforms and tools.
Document and track support requests, ensuring issues are resolved efficiently and effectively.

Requirements

Minimum of 5 years of experience in technical support or a related field, with a focus on end-user assistance.
Proficiency in using educational platforms such as Canvas and Populi.
Strong knowledge of Zoom and its features for virtual learning environments.
Demonstrated experience in providing end-user training and application support.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with both students and faculty.
Familiarity with single sign-on systems and library resource portals.
A proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues before they escalate.
