We are seeking an experienced Senior Sybase Database Administrator Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive hands-on experience managing, maintaining, and optimizing Sybase ASE (Adaptive Server Enterprise) environments in both on-premises and AWS cloud infrastructures. This role involves database administration, automation, performance tuning, replication setup, and system-level troubleshooting for complex enterprise environments.

• Perform administration, configuration, and maintenance of Sybase ASE databases across Linux and AWS environments.

• Design, develop, and test database solutions supporting complex enterprise applications.

• Manage database upgrades, migrations, and patching across different versions and environments.

• Configure and maintain high availability (HA), replication, and disaster recovery setups.

• Automate key DBA tasks including backups, monitoring, and configuration using Unix Shell scripting and Python.

• Implement role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and other security best practices.

• Perform troubleshooting, performance debugging, and query optimization to ensure system stability.

• Provide production support for mission-critical systems and databases.

• Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical consulting and support multiple ongoing projects simultaneously.

• Create and maintain documentation for configurations, processes, and issue resolutions.

• 10+ years of strong hands-on experience in Sybase Database Administration, including Sybase ASE and Transact-SQL.

• Proven experience supporting Sybase on Linux environments (both on-premises and AWS cloud).

• Proficiency in AutoSys scheduler, replication setup, HA architecture, and performance tuning.

• Strong automation skills using Unix Shell scripting and Python.

• Experience with database migration and upgrades across multiple Sybase versions.

• Deep understanding of RBAC, encryption, and cloud-based database management.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.

• Ability to work independently and handle multiple high-impact projects.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

• Professional certifications in database administration or cloud technologies preferred.

• Solid IT background with proven experience in application development or database engineering
