Description
We are looking for an experienced Applications Architect to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with a strong background in database administration, system design, and software integration. As part of a long-term contract, you will play a key role in managing database infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, and supporting technology projects.
Responsibilities:
Oversee the administration and maintenance of database infrastructure, including capacity planning and server management.
Diagnose and resolve database issues, recommending and implementing effective solutions.
Monitor database performance across development, testing, and production environments to align with service level expectations.
Perform database backup and recovery operations to ensure data security and reliability.
Carry out database performance tuning and indexing to enhance system efficiency.
Collaborate on technology projects, coordinating implementation and ensuring seamless integration.
Enforce database operation policies, procedures, and security protocols.
Share technical expertise with team members, assisting in data management operations like extraction, transformation, and replication.
Evaluate database software products and recommend improvements.
Support Oracle PeopleSoft systems, contributing to system changes and upgrades.
Requirements
Extensive knowledge of database administration practices, security procedures, and system integration.
Proficiency in troubleshooting network operating domains, relational databases, and both web-based and Windows-based applications.
Expertise in relational database design, Windows applications, and database performance tuning.
Skilled in installing, maintaining, and upgrading applications such as Oracle PeopleSoft.
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and demands effectively.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Relevant certifications in Cisco or Oracle are highly desirable.
