Job Title : Electrical Engineer III
Job Duties : Toyota Material Handling, Inc. seeks an Electrical Engineer III in Columbus, Indiana, to autonomously create hardware designs, review designs of others, and provide technical leadership for small milestones. Work with internal and external customers on engineering projects in a customer-centric manner. Apply knowledge of electrical hardware design of low and medium voltage devices. Work with cross-functional teams. Perform electrical engineering work with low voltage, high voltage circuits. Work with common control system topologies and technologies, including motor drives and Switching devices (Contactors, Converters) various. Study system design of current products and create requirements for new projects. Specify and review hardware requirements needed to meet system level requirements. Specify, review and tune the control system, motor drivers to achieve the needed performance. Coordinate suppliers and review regulation compliance, hardware component designs, R&D efforts, and system design. Work with firmware, mechanical teams, and testing teams to guide design. Conduct feasibility studies for requested features before confirming functional requirements. Maintain detailed schedules that support overall product schedules and properly communicate status to management. Create and update technical documentation, test plans, and test results. Diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and software components of controllers and other electronic devices related to OEM forklifts. Telecommuting permitted 2 days per week. Annual salary: $88,816 to $106,845.
Minimum Requirements : Requires a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or a related field plus 6 months of electrical engineering experience in: CANBus; Safety Regulations (UL); Lithium Ion Batteries; Common control system topologies and technologies, including motor drives; CAN diagnosis and troubleshooting using CAN vector tools, J1939 to create system diagrams and system design; Root cause analysis, and Test instructions; C, C++, and Python.
