Systems Integrator

Qualitest is seeking a Systems Integrator 2 Hardware Technician, who would be responsible for managing the development and integration of hardware subsystems into large scale capture domes. The Hardware Tech will take requirements from the Hardware Team to translate the requirements into system specifications, along with creating lasting solutions for frequent or recurring issues. The Hardware Tech will install systems based on the created specifications, provide quality assurance testing, and report on the systems adherence to guidelines and standards.

This is a full-time, onsite position based in Fremont, CA, requiring onsite presence 5 days a week.

Responsibilities Included but not limited to:

• Providing the Capture systems troubleshooting, maintenance, and technical support for the Capture Systems during the capture process.
• Maintain and address component bugs and issues.
• Analyze frequent failures and make suggestions for how to solve these issues.
• Create lasting solutions for frequent or recurring issues.
• Assembly support for system upgrades.
• Escalate any non-standard issues to the appropriate Facebook Technologies team using an internal issue reporting tool.
• Helping to maintain system documentation.

Prefer to Haves:

• Self-autonomy and project leadership.
• Strong skills in navigating and managing via command line, PowerShell.
• Experienced in Linux system administration and configuration.
• Experience with writing and editing JSON files.
• Effective at diagnosing and solving technical problems quickly.
• Bachelor s degree or equivalent experiences
• Experience in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering assembly.
• Experience working with software teams.
• Experience troubleshooting combined software and hardware systems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Two plus (2+) years of experience in mechanical engineering and electrical engineering assembly.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with virtual reality systems, cameras and optical systems, lighting systems, and audio systems.
• Experience in designing simple mechanical parts in CAD.
• Experience in at least one scripting language (Python, JavaScript, Bash).
• Experience soldering and surface mount parts.
• Experience with performance critical software systems.
• Setup and strike equipment for pilots.
• Collect data to verify component performance.
• Communicating with Capture Techs.
• Training new employees and leading team initiatives.
• Creating and updating documentation (training, processes etc.)
