Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

The Senior System Administrator will be part of an integrated Operations and Sustainment team that provides critical mission support to a DOD customer. The Senior System Administrator will interface with other engineers co-located, as well as located at other agency facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Manages and administers complex information technology systems to ensure that system design and operation meet business needs.
  • Provides guidance and experience on a project or program, serves as a team leader, and performs analysis of issues and risks.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of the new GEM Cutter system.
  • Isolate and resolve problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications, other infrastructure, or any combination as needed.
  • Hand-off problem reports to appropriate leads like Amazon/C2S, NGA-ESC, etc.
  • Provides systems and account administration.
  • Provide support for implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of systems.
  • Isolate and resolve problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications, other infrastructure, or any combination as needed.
  • Provide support for the escalation and communication of status to management and internal customers.
  • Isolate and resolve hardware and software problems involving the applications, operating system, hardware, communications infrastructure, or any combination of these.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain integrity, and configure network components, along with implementing operating systems enhancements to improve reliability and performance.
  • Integrate new technologies into new and existing systems.
  • Deploy to multiple security domains, ensure software baselines are consistent across multiple environments.
  • Support data staging/loading activities for test events and data migration.
  • Developing metrics reporting/dashboards for O&S status.
  • Tools: Kafka, OpenShift, WebSocket, Elasticsearch, Grafana, GitLab, Service +, Git Repositories, JIRA, Confluence.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, systems engineering, or any related field/major, OR
  • High school diploma or GED with 6+ additional years of experience
  • Experience in troubleshooting, maintaining integrity, and configuring Cloud-based components along with implementing operating systems enhancements.
  • Ability to create and maintain scripts required to automate system activities is required
  • Security+ required
  • TS/SCI clearance required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting, as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills,
  • professional demeanor, previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
