Position: Lead Application Engineer (Logistics)
Duration: 12+ months contract
Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite role)

JOB DESCRIPTION

SKILLS NEEDED : Ideal candidate has Manhattan WMOS and exposure to Java (Manhattan WMOS is java based) but open to a warehouse management system.

Duties/Day to Day Overview This role is a 100% hands on tech lead role.

  • Authors, reviews and approves technical designs
  • Mastery of domain programming language
  • Engineers extensible solutions with the team in mind and can fix complex bugs
  • Reviews code to ensure it is functionally correct and consistent with the technical design
  • Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths
  • Accountable for complex stories and integration or business requirements
  • Accountable for domain dependencies and critical paths
  • Anticipates risks and provides contingency solutions and timelines
  • Defines useful metrics and targets for domain
  • Measurably improves processes and best practices to achieve goals

Technical

(Nice to Haves)

  • 10+ years of experience in application and software engineering
  • Experience acting in a lead capacity both from a technical oversight and mentor perspective
  • Experience with Distribution Centers / logistics technology,

o Warehouse Management Systems ideally Manhattan WMOS

  • Comfortable partnering with external vendors in this case, working closely with Manhattan Associates for the design and development of new capabilities with WMOS, perform configuration, testing, production support.

Non-Technical Requirements

  • Experience working in an agile development environment Jira, sprint planning, story point estimation
  • Excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate business functionality and opportunities into clear, precise and easy-to-read functional specifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills to effectively communicate with both business and technical IT teams.
  • Strong business acumen to quickly learn new business processes and understand how technology can support the business in achieving revenue and profit goals.
  • Proven ability to pull a diverse group of individuals with different goals together and facilitate productive discussions.
  • Exhibit the qualities of situational leadership as well as someone who can work with a team and pull the team forward to deliver business value.
