Job Profile Summary
The JDE/Power BI Business Analyst works closely with business stakeholders, portfolio managers, and subject matter experts to identify and drive business change. This role supports strategic goals through the effective use of technology and business analysis, helping to bridge the gap between business needs and IT solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Develop strong relationships with stakeholders to understand business functions and processes.
Elicit business needs using techniques such as interviews, workshops, surveys, process analysis, and use cases.
Analyze information from multiple sources to resolve conflicts, derive insights, and differentiate between user requests and true business needs.
Facilitate process standardization by defining current ("as-is") and future ("to-be") state business processes and rules.
Provide clear and comprehensive documentation of business requirements and processes to ensure traceability throughout the solution lifecycle.
Collaborate with program leads and application owners to ensure business requirements are well-understood and effectively addressed.
Coordinate with user groups to assess system changes and align solutions with business goals.
Act as a liaison between end users, project teams, and support groups, ensuring effective communication of changes and validation of deliverables.
Work with strategic integrators to translate business requirements into functional specifications.
Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to manage expectations and project scope.
Monitor ongoing and upcoming projects, communicating business impacts proactively.
Engage business and IT leadership to manage demand and align solutions with organizational capacity.
Provide feedback to IT leadership regarding issues or concerns affecting operations.
Coordinate changes to business applications and ensure effective communication of impacts.
Identify and recommend business process improvements and areas for operational efficiency.
Stay updated on emerging technology trends relevant to the business.
Provide input to portfolio management and identify opportunities where technology can enhance performance.
Research and present potential new initiatives requiring IT involvement.
Assist in preparing business cases and requirement documentation for proposed systems and improvements.
Ensure compliance with the Business Analyst Community of Practice standards.
Education & Certifications
Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems or related field, or equivalent experience.
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience & Skills
5 7 years of experience in business analysis and developing business requirements.
3 4 years of experience in business process analysis, data analysis, or workflow analysis.
Strong desire to understand business needs and drive meaningful change.
Excellent customer service mindset focused on delivering business value.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to interact professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including executives and technical teams.
Proficient in business process modeling and the creation of process/flow diagrams.
Experience in analyzing current state processes and implementing process improvements.
Strong technical and business acumen.
Skilled in creating visual aids (templates, charts, diagrams, workflows) to support communication and requirements gathering.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Strong technical writing abilities.
Familiarity with the full project delivery lifecycle.
High proficiency in JDE, Power BI, MS Visio, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint.
Effective cross-functional collaboration skills.
Ability to anticipate problems and assess long-term implications of decisions.
Capable of articulating complex technical ideas in clear, business-oriented language.
