Overview
We are on our way to build and deliver multi-tenanted decentralized data platform with centralized governance, with self-service infrastructure plane and data controls.
We are seeking a talented and experienced Sr. Data Platform Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and tools necessary for our cloud-based data platform. Your responsibilities will include team leadership, working closely with data engineers, analysts, cross-functional teams, and other stakeholders to ensure that our data platform meets the needs of our organization and supports our data-driven initiatives.

- Design, develop and manage data pipelines to ingest, process, and store data from various sources into the cloud data platform
- Optimize data storage and retrieval processes for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness
- Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and analysts to understand their requirements and provide solutions that enable them to analyze and derive insights from data effectively
- Document data platform architecture, processes, and procedures
- Adopt best practices in monitoring, troubleshoot, and overall observability of the data platform issues, ensuring solution resiliency and high availability
- Stay up to date with the latest cloud technologies and best practices in data engineering and recommend improvements to our data platform architecture and processes
- Work closely with stakeholders to gather requirements, prioritize tasks, and deliver projects on time and within budget
- Proven experience in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-based infrastructure, preferably for data platforms
- Strong proficiency in cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform, including compute, storage, networking, and security services (Our focus is Google Cloud Platform) and proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala
- Hands on experience with Big Data technologies such as Apache Hadoop, Apache Spark, and Apache Kafka, as well as experience with data pipeline orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow, experience with Infrastructure as a Code tools such as Terraform
- Familiarity with database systems such as BigQuery, BigLake, Hive, Impala, PostgreSQL, or NoSQL databases
- Knowledge of data management and cloud security best practices
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
- Proactive mindset, attention to details, and constant desire to improve and innovate
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
