- Hiring manager is open to seeing candidates from CA (Glendale) and FL (Orlando)
- Work Schedule: Please expect to be onsite 2x a week for either hubs subject in the future.
- Interviews: 2 rounds | 1st initial with hiring manager | 2nd round with panel
EXTERNAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This role sits in the Product Design & Creative organization within Technology & Digital. It works closely with product and tech partners from across the company.
The Content Designer will report to the Manager, Content Design &Operations.
About The Role & Team:
This role is responsible for creating and updating content strategy and design across channels
including web and app experiences. The role requires collaboration with our
team of content designers, copywriters, product designers, and cross-functional partners.
Key Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:
- Creation of and updates to content maps
- User research and testing
- Information Architecture
- Prototyping
- Taxonomy and Facet Development and maintenance
- Presentations
What You'll Do:
- Develop strategic content designs to inspire, shape, and create compelling content experiences
that benefit our Guests and support business and project priorities across platforms
- Guide the creation, distribution and governance of content for all assigned projects
- Engage in content design explorations of multiple solutions and how they fit into the broader
user experience.
- Contribute to projects across portfolios, partnering with other content designers and product
designers and collaborating with cross-functional teams including product management,
technology and consumer insights to take work from ideation to reality
- Build relationships with team members, leaders, and cross functional partners to drive
collaboration and innovation on projects.
- Provide content design documentation for projects within their line of business that are in line
with our design system
- Deliver content design artifacts for product experiences across web, mobile web and native apps
(iOS and Android), and emerging tech platforms. May perform user design research.
- You will be encouraged to stay up to date with design trends and emerging technologies
Basic Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of related work experience
- Comfortable working in an agile environment
- Experience as a content designer, with demonstrated capabilities across a range of content
design capabilities including IA, taxonomy, data analysis, and design systems
- Strong communication and presentation skills: ability to articulate questions, content decisions,
and updates to leaders and project team members as needed; strong understanding of how
their communication impacts the work.
- Strong understanding of design best practices and ability to deliver content design assets that meet project goals and enhances the user experience
Preferred Qualifications
Understanding of content strategy, digital product design and UX principles & methods,
including user-centered design, information architecture, UI/UX/interaction design, usability
testing, and user research methodologies.
- Proficiency in Figma, including prototyping,
- Understanding of content principles, hierarchy, story, and data driven content strategy and the ability to apply them to your work
- Experience conducting user research, analyzing data, and leveraging insights to inform design
decisions.
- Skilled in identifying user needs and translating them into intuitive, user-friendly content
strategies while aligning with business objectives and driving segment growth.
- Good knowledge of human behavior and its impact on user interactions.
- Familiarity with the Disney brand, IPs, stories, and Disney Experience businesses.
Required Education Bachelor s degree and/or equivalent work experience
