We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Business Analyst to join our growing team! Dahl Consulting is currently partnering with a leading software company.   • Worksite Location: Remote
  • Contract Duration: 2-3 months
  • Schedule: Part-time | 10-15 hours per week
  • Compensation: $30.00 per hour

What you ll do as the Business Analyst:

  • Help validate data, write test cases, and understand transformation logic
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and document detailed data requirements, including data quality, frequency, and performance expectations
  • Define and maintain source-to-target data mappings, transformation rules, and business logic to support ETL workflows
  • Assist in data modeling efforts to ensure efficient and accurate data flow into reporting and analytics systems
  • Partner with data engineers, developers, and business teams to ensure alignment between technical solutions and business needs
  • Review and validate data outputs using basic SQL or query tools to ensure accuracy and adherence to requirements
  • Translate complex business questions into data requirements and functional documentation

What you need to become the Business Analyst:

  • Familiarity with how data is extracted from sources, transformed for quality and consistency, and loaded into target systems like data warehouses
  • Ability to define how data should flow, including source-to-target mappings, data transformations, and business rules
  • Skilled in eliciting and documenting functional and non-functional requirements from stakeholders, especially around data quality, frequency, and performance
  • Experience working with data engineers, developers, and business users to align technical capabilities with business goals
  • Familiarity with ETL Tools
  • Exposure to platforms like Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or cloud-based tools like Hevo, Stitch, or AWS Glue helps in writing realistic and implementable requirements
  • Knowledge of Data Sources
  • Understanding of common data formats (CSV, JSON, XML), APIs, databases, and cloud storage systems used in ETL pipelines
  • Basic SQL or Querying skills
