Detailed Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced AWS WAF Engineer to design, implement, and manage security controls that protect our web applications from evolving threats.
In this role, you will develop automation, integrate security solutions, and ensure robust protection across our web infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Design, configure, and manage AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF) to safeguard web applications against security threats.
- Develop and maintain automation scripts for WAF deployment, configuration, and ongoing management.
- Collaborate closely with the security team to integrate AWS WAF with existing security tools, SIEM platforms, and monitoring solutions.
- Monitor and respond to security incidents involving web application vulnerabilities or attacks.
- Create and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) templates using CloudFormation, Terraform, or similar tools to deploy AWS WAF and related security services.
- Conduct periodic security assessments, audits, and rule tuning to ensure maximum protection and minimal false positives.
- Provide technical support, troubleshooting, and optimization for AWS WAF configurations.
- Stay current with the latest security trends, threat vectors, and AWS security technologies.
Requirements
- Proven hands-on experience working with AWS Web Application Firewall (WAF).
- Strong proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., AWS CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible).
- Deep understanding of web application security principles, OWASP Top 10, and best practices.
- Solid knowledge of AWS cloud architecture and related services.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, DevSecOps practices, and automated security testing.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, analytical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
