The Opportunity:
As an experienced engineer, you know that machine learning is critical to understanding and processing massive datasets. Your ability to conduct statistical analyses on business processes using Machine Learning (ML) techniques makes you an integral part of delivering a customer-focused solution. We need your technical knowledge and desire to problem-solve to support Public Health and Safety. As a machine learning engineer on our team, you'll train, test, deploy, and maintain models that learn from data.
In this role, you'll own and define the direction of mission-critical solutions by applying best-fit ML algorithms and technologies. You'll be part of a large community of machine learning engineers across the company and collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, solutions architects, enterprise architects and product owners to deliver world class solutions to design and develop Machine Learning Operations framework for the entire enterprise and also be part of mentorship, training, and solutions to real world problem, process data and information at a massive scale, and perform A/B testing tasks on statistical models, ML algorithms, and systems. Your advanced skills and extensive technical expertise will guide clients as they navigate the landscape of ML algorithms, tools, and frameworks. This position is located in Atlanta, GA.

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $99,000.00 to $225,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. What You'll Work On:
- Build and maintain complex data pipelines using PySpark, and Palantir Foundry.
- Develop and manage data models, ontology layers, and transform logic to support analytical use cases.
- Lead the development, deployment, and optimization of machine learning models and algorithms.
- Design and implement ML workflows-including generative AI, agent frameworks, and RAG pipelines-that address key business problems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as product, data, and engineering, to understand business needs and translate them into ML solutions.
- Stay current with the latest advancements in machine learning and AI and integrate new technologies and methods as applicable.
- Contribute to the development of data governance, access control, and auditing mechanisms

You Have:
- 5+ years of experience in machine learning or data science
- 5+ years of experience with developing production-grade ML solutions leveraging Python or R
- 2+ years of experience in data engineering using PySpark and Palantir Foundry
- 2+ years of experience in machine learning frameworks and libraries, such as TensorFlow or PyTorch
- 1+ year of experience with Palantir Foundry AIP
- Knowledge of cloud native services for data storage, computer, and machine learning, such as Databricks, Domino, or Azure ML
- Ability to utilize generative AI, agent frameworks, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) implementation
- Ability to deploy ML models to production at scale, including reliability and performance
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements
- Bachelor's degree
Nice If You Have:
- Experience with open-source LLMs, such as LLaMA, Gemma, or Phi
- Experience in deep learning, NLP, or computer vision
- Experience with containerization and orchestration, including CI/CD
- Experience with writing concise technical documentation of solutions developed
- Experience with presenting technical solutions to a broad audience
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or Machine Learning
