As an Engineering Design Manager (DM) you'll collaborate with others as a leader/manager responsible for the technical production and delivery of infrastructure design documents. Your focus will be on client satisfaction, managing design delivery resources, and ensuring adherence to quality standards. The DM's primary responsibility is to ensure that all aspects of an assigned design delivery project are completed successfully, on time, on budget, and consistent with contractual requirements. The DM achieves success by supporting, listening to, collaborating with, and managing the design team (including design team staff, and subconsultants/subcontractors).
The DM is a participant with Project Managers and the broader design team in project decisions regarding technical approaches, cost and scheduling, and performance. Additionally, the DM is responsible for monitoring and control of the design scope, the identification of schedule and cost variances, development and implementation of recommendations for corrective action for variances, and for proactive change management.
Here's what you'll need
Bachelor's degree in Business Management or Civil, Environmental Engineering, or other applicable Engineering disciplines
At least 4-5 years of engineering and design experience in infrastructure related design disciplines
Strong design development and management skills
Progressive experience developing engineering design drawings and specifications
Experience developing and managing delivery to contractual design scopes of work, level of effort budgets, and schedules
Foundational experience with MS Office 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
Ability to work as part of and lead teams to deliver complex products and tasks
Attention to detail, quality delivery, and client service
Ideally, you'll also have:
6+ years of management or design experience in water related projects
Master's degree in Business Management or Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline
Experience with design-build projects and/or other "alternative delivery" approaches
Progressive experience developing engineering technical reports and presentations
Experience or working knowledge with Microsoft Project, SmartSheet or other scheduling tools.
Experience or working knowledge with Bluebeam Revu
