Job Description:

Responsible for the internal or customer administration, maintenance and management of capacity resources for computers at the operating system and infrastructure level. Builds, configures, troubleshoots and integrates new and existing servers to provide service enhancements, application deployments and infrastructure upgrades. Sets up administrator and service accounts, maintains system documentation, tunes system performance, installs system-wide software, and allocates mass storage space. Recommends software and hardware enhancements, diagnoses and corrects issues, defines and implements new services with the goal of achieving maximum server uptime and availability for the customers. Responsible for monitoring performance, system usage. Contributes towards the Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP), backup systems and disk configurations. Conducts system analysis and development to keep systems current with changing technologies.

Essential Functions:
  • Configure, monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot Redhat/Oracle Linux systems (both physical and virtual).
  • Deploy and maintain infrastructure through automation using tools such as Ansible, Kickstart, Podman, and Puppet.
  • Implement and maintain security controls in compliance with DoD security frameworks and RMF requirements.
  • Integrate Linux and Windows systems within a unified Active Directory Domain.
  • Create and manage containers in both Linux and Windows environments.
  • Customize, optimize, and troubleshoot enterprise-level applications.
  • Perform security administration in support of RMF requirements and integrate RMF principles into ground-up builds.
  • Utilize Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD), agile system development, and DevSecOps tools and processes.
  • Employ testing applications such as Jenkins, Jira, and Bitbucket for continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks.
  • Use and create LDAP for Windows and Linux IDM.
  • Support hardware/software requirement verification and system validation.
  • Administer cross-domain systems and support DoD/government customers.
  • Utilize virtualization technologies (KVM), backup technologies (NAS, SAN, iSCSI, SAS), and microservices/containers (e.g., Docker).

Systems Engineering Responsibilities:
  • Perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
  • Conduct analyses at all levels of total system product including concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Perform functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation, and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
  • Work to achieve operational targets with direct impact on the departmental results.
  • Contribute to the development of goals for the department and planning efforts (budgets, operational plans).

Qualifications:
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's Degree and minimum 6 years of prior relevant experience.
    • Graduate Degree and a minimum of 4 years of prior related experience.
    • In lieu of a degree, minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Certifications:
    • DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., Security+).
    • Preferred: Current Linux Certifications such as RedHat Certification (RHCSA or RHCE) or CompTIA Linux+.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Current CI Poly and be willing to upgrade to a FS Poly.

Preferred Additional Skills:
  • Supporting DoD & IC Government customers.
  • Working with continuous integration, build management, and automated test frameworks.
  • Integrating and administering cross-domain systems.
  • Utilizing virtualization technologies and backup solutions.
  • Managing and growing in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
