Description

We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. This contract to permanent position involves overseeing the security, performance, and overall management of network systems while ensuring compliance with organizational goals and policies. The ideal candidate will play a key role in safeguarding sensitive data and enhancing network infrastructure to meet future business needs.

Responsibilities:
Oversee the prioritization of network engineering tasks to align with organizational objectives.
Manage and coordinate upgrades, changes, and expansions of network hardware, software, and communication systems.
Monitor and optimize the performance of network systems, including routers and switches, while identifying opportunities for improvement.
Develop and implement network policies and strategies that address business risks and security requirements.
Lead efforts to prevent, detect, and address security breaches in networked information resources.
Maintain strong relationships with third-party vendors to ensure reliable support for technical systems.
Ensure compliance with IT policies by executing plans and conducting regular reviews throughout the system lifecycle.
Implement proactive security measures and direct defensive strategies to protect networked resources.
Design network systems in accordance with applicable security standards and organizational policies.
Collaborate with other departments to align network solutions with evolving business needs.

Requirements

Proficiency in managing and configuring Cisco Routers.

Expertise in Fortinet administration.

Familiarity with Cisco ASA systems.

Strong understanding of Border Gateway Protocol (BGP).

Solid experience in Cisco Networking.

Demonstrated ability to develop and implement network security measures.

Effective communication skills for collaborating with vendors and internal teams.

Knowledge of IT compliance standards and practices.
