The Boeing Research & Technology (BR&T) Disruptive Computing & Networking (DC&N) software capability is seeking Subject Matter Expert Virtualization Software Engineers in El Segundo, CA or Huntington Beach, CA.
The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Position Responsibilities:
Oversees the designs, develops, tests, and integrates software models to emulate the behavior and functionality of hardware components or systems to provide an all-software test and integration environment.
Partners with hardware engineers to identify and review requirements and specifications for the hardware being emulated.
Oversees validation, verification, and refinement of simulation software code, models, simulations, test procedures and test environments, executing test procedures, documenting test results and modeling against real-world data, test data, benchmarks, or other similar models.
Advises on software domains related to emulation technologies.
Creates and updates policies, practices and processes for emulation and virtualized resource management.
Implements current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks and changes in regulations relevant to hardware emulation.
Partners with cross functional engineering teams to advise on integration of simulation software with hardware devices and systems.
Performs hardware emulation project management activities.
Oversees simulation software project management functions
Advises management and influences internal practices on a wide range of topics related to the software engineering simulation environments.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Active U.S. Top Secret / SCI Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)
10+ years of experience with C/C++ coding or java/python script development
10+ years of experience with designing and developing software for a real time or non-real time system
10+ years of experience with integrating simulation interfaces to embedded software
10+ years of experience with managing or leading people or teams
Experience working on a software project involving developing models, simulations or control systems
Experience with large integrated simulations on distributed machines or virtual machines
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
Adjudicated Counter Intelligence scope polygraph completed within the last 5 years
Experience automating software builds, unit tests, integration tests, deployment, and installations using a DevOps tool chain (Gitlab, Jenkins, Nexus, Artifactory, etc).
Experience with the development of firmware
Experience in acceleration of simulations in regard to integrated system test benches
Experience emulating FPGAs (e,g Verilator)
Experience designing and implementing Hardware in the Loop (HIL) Simulations.
Experience in modification and debugging of custom virtual machines (e.g Quick Emulators (QEMU), Raven QEMU)
Experience with various communication protocols
o TCP, UDP, RoCE, RDMA (Infiniband, Slingshot),VMlink, Serial Deserial Communication (Interlaken, Aurora)
Experience using simulation frameworks (e.g Common Simulation Framework)
o Experience using Functional Mockup Interface and Functional Mockup Units
Experience in Computational Physics
Experience in Surrogate Modeling
Experience with Discrete Time Event Simulators
