Apex Systems has partnered with a company who is a major player in the tech Industry who is currently looking for a Datacenter Operations Engineer in the South Bend area! This on-site role is a contract based project working on a W2 basis. If youre interested, then please apply directly!

Title: Datacenter Operations Engineer (Electrical)
Location: South Bend, IN
Contract Length: up to 12 months to start
Shift: day shift- 12 hour shifts (40 hours w/ up to 16 hours of OT per month)
Pay Rate: up to 23/hr
Summary:
As a Datacenter Operations engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation and operation of critical IT infrastructure for AWS and applicable electrical systems that enable the function of said systems. You will work in a team environment to run the appropriate cabling from the power source to the server cabinet, running the appropriate test on equipment, and then doing the initial power-up/deploying into the work environment.

- Front Half: Sunday - Wednesday; Back-Half: Wednesday - Saturday
Pay Rate: up to 23/hr
Summary:
As a Datacenter Operations engineer, you will be responsible for the implementation and operation of critical IT infrastructure for AWS and applicable electrical systems that enable the function of said systems. You will work in a team environment to run the appropriate cabling from the power source to the server cabinet, running the appropriate test on equipment, and then doing the initial power-up/deploying into the work environment.
Responsibilities:
- Operate within an enterprise environment to provide a robust range of services for the datacenter and critical technical infrastructure.
- Work hands-on with electrical and network cabling to do the design, lay-out, and running of cables from a power source (e.g.: circuit breaker, generators, etc.) to the pre-determined destination, such as a server cabinet.
- Connect the appropriate connections to the destination and manage cabling within the cabinet to the specific server blades- doing the running, cable management, labeling, and documentation to meet organizational compliance requirements.
- Perform the necessary tests on the system once connected on the electrical side and perform the initial power-on in preparation for deployment into the environment.
Requirements:
- Have completed, or be in the process of completing, formal education, military, and/or vocational training within a relevant field- preferred qualification would be a bachelors degree in electrical engineering.
- Prior job history within construction or the trades, ideally with a dedicated background in electrical work with 1+ year of work experience- preferred work experience being in datacenter environments fulfilling similar tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills that afford effective communication, team work, and flexibility as needed to operate within this environment.
