Position Title : Senior Systems Engineer

Job Description :

Maintain stability and performance of Trading database systems. Play a key role in delivering solutions to our business partners, solving complex problems, and striving to advance and sustain a world-class platform. Perform performance analysis, monitoring, troubleshooting, and issue resolution. Plan database releases, perform impact analysis, and execute releases. Perform database capacity planning, trend analysis, and predict future database resource requirements. Plan and execute database upgrades that include Oracle, MySQL, and PostgreSQL. Implement back-up, recovery, cloning, archiving, and conversion strategies. Maintain database health through patching, and table reorganizations. Support database refreshes by migrating data from production to lower environments. Participate in Disaster Recovery testing. Position is fixed location based in the Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements :

Requires a Master's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or directly related field plus two (2) years of experience in database administration and engineering.

Must have two (2) years of experience with the following (experience may be gained concurrently):
  • Experience with Oracle DBA, including 12c/19c
  • Implementing and supporting Oracle RAC 19c
  • Oracle ecosystem, array of support utilities, and standard maintenance, including patching, upgrades, and migrations
  • Kerberos and Data Encryption methodologies, including user authentication and data security
  • Managing Linux operating systems
  • Administering MySQL and PostgresSQL databases
  • ITIL change, incident, and problem management
  • Experience with full software development lifecycle
Will accept a Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) plus five (5) years of experience in database administration and engineering in lieu of a Master's degree plus two (2) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm, $140,000-155,000/year.
