Description
SALARY RANGE: $30.00 - $46.00 per hour
In determining compensation, various factors will be considered, including but not limited to, educational background; relevant experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, market factors; and geographic location.
GENERAL SUMMARY: Delphinus Engineering is currently seeking a qualified Level II Inspector to work at our Norfolk, VA location. The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of documented NDT certifications and experience with VT, PT, MT, and UTT methods working shipboard to NAVSEA standards.
The inspector will understand and ensure Delphinus Engineering's production efforts are compliant with customer directives, requirements, specifications and the Quality Management System. The candidate will ensure Nondestructive Testing (NDT) inspections are compliant with customer directives, requirements, specifications, and approved procedures. The inspector will be qualified to properly set up and calibrate equipment to interpret and evaluate results with respect to applicable codes, standards, and specifications. This individual will be familiar with the scope and limitations of the NDT methods for which qualified/certified. Tasking will include the ability to organize and report the results of NDT inspections. The candidate will ensure the requirements set forth in the company processes are adhered to and enforced. Other duties include working outside of the NDT field in a Tiger Team work environment and assisting with welder qualifications.

LOCATION: Norfolk, VA.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Certified VT, MT, PT, UT Thickness (Shearwave a plus), Level II, IAW ASNT-TC1A and NSTP-271
- Experience working on board submarines
- Experience working with 5000/6000 series aluminum
- Knowledge qualifying welders in accordance with NSTP-248 is a huge plus
- Strong analytical skills
- Experience reviewing Workbooks
- High level of familiarity with NAVSEA STD Items, MIL-SPECS, and TECH PUBS applicable to U.S. Navy vessels.
- Must have or be able to possess DOD Security Clearance.
- Frequent travel and overtime may be required.
- Technical writing ability a plus.
- Support an effective program that meets all the requirements of the Submarine Safety Requirements Manual, the System Certification Procedures and Criteria Manual for Deep Submergence Systems, the DEI-MSD Quality Management Systems Manual, and other higher-level authority guidance.
- Responsible for performing the duties and responsibilities set forth by the company Quality Management System and all other higher-level program requirements
- Maintaining personal qualifications and training to support all assigned functions
- Review and ensure OQE is complete and correct. \n
