Powertrain Virtual Analysis Program Lead (1426621)
Open to OPT, and GC
Auburn Hills, MI
Description:
Lead and execute propulsion system programs, create the Virtual Engineering (VE) scorecard, develop VE workplan aligned with Propulsion Systems Development Process (PSDP), program timings and DVP&R (Design Validation Plan & Report) from Propulsion Systems (PRS), ensure all the functional requirements are met, including:
Coordinate work plan with all Propulsion groups, vehicle teams, suppliers, test, program management, and other functional VE groups and ensure relevant sequence between disciplines for complex VE workstreams (models, analysis, and due dates) are executed.
Synthesis with PRCs of the design requirements covered by VE, physical / digital balance and make sure required tests can t be covered with digital simulation.
Estimate VE budget or check that VE budget assessment is consistent with VE tasks required to support program, and include in ER&D rollup.
Track department program budget, program ERD submissions, invoices and issue Purchase orders globally.
Ensure VE requirements are included into source package.
Implement / guarantee the digital configuration used for each scorecard and track evolutions all along the project.
Identify list of required specific tests to support simulations (identification test, trim test, input data...) and plan them in a relevant way with simulation expectations.
Identify and negotiate for delivery of models coming from suppliers.
Manage VE risks issued during the analysis and develop the risk mitigation plan, aligned with PRCs and PFDI groups.
Meet program timings.
Generate and present VE scorecard at each gate / milestone.
Manage delivery of synthesis models required by partners (as PFDI), ensuring quality, configuration and on time delivery.
Follow established program execution process and identify future improvements to improve process.
Gather lessons learnt all along the project.
Requirements:
Master of Science in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace, Industrial, Applied Physics, or related Engineering field) from an accredited University
Minimum 7 years of experience in Virtual Engineering.
Virtual engineering (CAE) experience in propulsions /Vehicle in the areas of NVH, Durability, CFD, Lubrication, Performance & Aero thermal
Preferred Requirements:
Thorough knowledge of Propulsion Systems design with focus on ICE engines, engine systems, axles, drivelines or electrified transmissions, Batteries, Electric Drive Module (EDM)s and power electronics.
Skills / Ability:
Project management skills in coordinating CAE activities with various release and functional groups.
Candidates must have excellent written / oral communication and organizational skills.
Demonstrated successful completion of large scale projects.
