Title: Mainframe DB2 System Programmer (16+ years)
Location: Washington, DC (Hybrid – local only)
MOI: Phone + F2F

Role Overview

Seeking a senior Mainframe DB2 System Programmer to lead the installation, upgrade, customization, and performance support of DB2 environments across multi–data center architectures.

Key Responsibilities

Install, upgrade, and apply maintenance/PTFs for DB2 using SMPE or z/OSMF.
Navigate LPARs using TSO, ISPF, and IBM utilities.
Install/customize BMC DB2 Utilities and BMC MainView.
Assist Application DBAs with DB2 performance issues.
Support DB2 V13 implementation using z/OSMF.
Participate in planning, design, and deployment of DB2 standards across multi–data centers (HA/DR, relocations).
Provide technical support to app teams and data center staff.

Desired Skills

CICS 5.6+, WLM integration, SMP/E, Sysplex environments.
Additional exposure: Oracle, SQL, Linux, z/VM, MVS.
Strong communication and project leadership skills.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT or related field (preferred).
16+ years in mainframe/DB2 engineering roles.
