Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Analytics and Reporting Data Analyst to support the critical role in designing, developing, and documenting the analytics and reporting processes supporting the data lifecycle across IDHW’s Medicaid ecosystem, including the SI Hub and I-MIDAS platforms. This role ensures the seamless flow, transformation, and consumption of healthcare data by establishing effective system architecture and standardized documentation. This individual will collaborate with various technical and business stakeholders to optimize data structure and reporting workflows, improve accessibility, and deliver actionable insights through visualization and structured outputs.
Responsibilities:
- Define, document, and maintain analytics and reporting data flows, including system architecture and data process mapping
- Gather, format, and extract structured data according to established standards, models, and Medicaid-specific reporting requirements
- Develop, test, and troubleshoot data pipelines and reporting queries to support the IDHW’s Medicaid operations
- Improve data availability and efficiency to support consumption by various stakeholders including business analysts, decision-makers, and program staff
- Ensure integration of analytics processes with existing data repositories, ODS, and Data Warehouse environments
- Leverage tools such as Tableau for building and delivering visual reports and dashboards
- Maintain communication and documentation of processes, including metadata management and troubleshooting protocols
Qualifications:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience working as a developer within Operational Data Store (ODS) environments or data warehouse systems
- At least two (2) years of experience working with large-scale automated systems, such as MMIS or other healthcare claims processing platforms
- Proficiency with SQL, data warehouse transactions, and programming languages relevant to analytics and data engineering
- Strong background in software tools, data pipelines, and reporting architectures
Preferred:
- Experience within Medicaid, MMIS, or fiscal agent operations
- Proficiency with Tableau or similar data visualization platforms
- Familiarity with healthcare data models and standards
- Strong communication and documentation skills for technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Applicable certifications in data analytics, business intelligence, or healthcare IT are a plus
