Job Role: Data Analyst

location: Washington DC (need local or nearby)

Job Description:

The role of the Data Analyst is to provide data analysis support for the Office of Education Through Employment Pathways. This is a highly skilled position, and familiarity with educational data and policies is required.

The position will require the resource to produce data analysis, with a focus on education and workforce-related data sets, and to produce public-facing write-ups of the data analysis that share key data insights in accessible language for the public. The Data Analyst shall have knowledge and expertise with R and Tableau. The role will involve working closely across education and workforce agency teams. The Data Analyst should possess extremely strong written and verbal communication skills and be able to address both business and technical audiences.

Duties:

  • Analyzes information and statistical data to prepare reports and studies for use by professionals.
  • Creates charts and graphics to present statistical analysis in an easily digestible format for a non-technical audience
  • Create public-facing written reports to present analytic findings to stakeholders and the public in accessible language
  • Plans, organizes, and conducts research focused on education and workforce-related topics.

Minimum Education/Certification Requirements:

  • Bachelor s degree in Data Analytics or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Experience working in R is required
  • Experience working in Tableau is required
  • Experience working with business stakeholders to support their data needs.
  • Experience presenting technical information to non-technical audiences
  • Experience working with education and workforce-related data preferred

Responsibilities:
1. Demonstrates expertise in conveying technical and functional concepts for a specific technical specialty.
2. Identifies improvements to project standards to achieve high-quality services/products.
3. Identifies best practices and standards for the use of the product.
4. Delivers support and design for industry-specific technologies that require integration with systems or networks.
5. Interacts with executive-level business users or technical experts.
6. Functions as a niche technical SME.
7. Lead experience with technical expertise across large, complex implementations for systems.
