Job Description Summary
The Propulsion Engineer develops Work Scopes for customer engines, dispositions engine hardware, and become a subject matter expert on jet propulsion for the CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, PP20, CT7, T700, and F110 engine programs. The propulsion engineer must provide a safe, high quality and cost-efficient product for our customers, while working in conjunction with other areas in the Strother Field manufacturing environment.

We have experienced teams working in plasma, frame and wire spraying, polyurethane and sermetel painting as well as heat treating, brazing, and TIG welding operations. In addition to comprehensive internal engine repair/overhaul, we also operate a world-class evaluation and testing facility that's FEDEC capable.

Role Overview:

As a Propulsion Engineer, you will develop work scopes for customer engines, disposition engine hardware, and become a subject matter expert on jet propulsion for engine programs such as CFM56, CF34-8, CF34-10, PP20, CT7, T700, and F110. This role is on-site and plays a critical part in ensuring safe, high-quality, and cost-efficient products for our customers while collaborating with cross-functional teams in the Strother Field manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop incoming engine work scopes that meet customer needs and adhere to contract demands.
  • Collaborate with quality and design engineers to ensure new processes achieve established metrics.
  • Provide technical responses and recommendations to customers and internal business units.
  • Support production schedules and quality initiatives while adhering to budget boundaries.
  • Investigate hardware and work closely with design engineering to resolve hardware issues.
  • Promote and build positive working relationships with all members of the site.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented, collaborative problem solver with strong communication skills and a passion for jet propulsion technology. They thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are committed to delivering high-quality results.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or institution strongly preferred.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing, engineering, quality, materials, or technology.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Six Sigma or equivalent quality training.
  • Strong influencing and organizational skills.
  • Effective problem identification and solution skills using structured methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and five-why.
  • Leadership ability with strong communication and decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in computer skills and MS Office.
  • Ability to handle diverse activities simultaneously and work in a matrix organization.
