Compute virtualization for both in-house developed and commercial off the shelf software leveraging VMwares technology stack and converged storage solutions utilizing Pure Storage - Private Cloud environment at the enterprise datacenter
Java application server (e.g. JBOSS EAP - Tomcat) implementation.
Linux and Windows systems engineering principles.
Automation of infrastructure delivery with configuration orchestration and management solutions (e.g. Ansible - Puppet - Terraform).
Understanding of coding practices and developing in a preferred scripting language (e.g. PowerShell - Python - UNIX Shell Scripting).
Experience with Operating System hardening practices as well as methodologies for templating deployments from a set of standardized images
Middleware solutions (e.g. IBM MQ - Kafka - Confluent).
DevOps principles and CI/CD solutions (e.g. GitLab - Jenkins).
Extensive experience with JBOSS EAP 6/7/8 & Tomcat to install/configure & migrate applications hosted to EDC.
Extensive experience with Ansible / Terraform & Unix Shell Scripting

Position: Build Engineer

Location: 100% REMOTE (Clint is in Madison, WI)

Duration: 6 Months CONTRACT TO HIRE

Rate: $53-$55/Hr

Client needs build engineers and can build / install / configure Application servers and migrate the existing legacy environment to the Enterprise Datacenter for all Non-Prod & Prod environments.

The target environment in EDC is all VMware virtualization with data on Pure Storage.

Primary Skills

  • Compute virtualization for both in-house developed and commercial off the shelf software leveraging VMware s technology stack and converged storage solutions utilizing Pure Storage - Private Cloud environment at the enterprise datacenter
  • Java application server (e.g. JBOSS EAP, Tomcat) implementation.
  • Linux and Windows systems engineering principles.

Team members for the Data Center Consolidation effort must have experience with at least the following:

  • Automation of infrastructure delivery with configuration orchestration and management solutions (e.g. Ansible, Puppet, Terraform).
  • Understanding of coding practices and developing in a preferred scripting language (e.g. PowerShell, Python, UNIX Shell Scripting).
  • Experience with Operating System hardening practices as well as methodologies for templating deployments from a set of standardized images.
  • Middleware solutions (e.g. IBM MQ, Kafka, Confluent).
  • DevOps principles and CI/CD solutions (e.g. GitLab, Jenkins).
  • Software engineering with an emphasis on Java software development.
  • Containerization of applications, preferably with an emphasis towards Kubernetes, specifically OpenShift.
  • Implementation of service catalog automation for delivery of infrastructure services.
  • Incident triage including scope determination, impact assessment and service restoration.

Need to have

  • Extensive experience with JBOSS EAP 6/7/8 & Tomcat to install/configure & migrate applications hosted to EDC.
  • Extensive experience with Ansible / Terraform & Unix Shell Scripting
  • Virtualization (VMware experience)

Good to have

  • Linux & Windows Administration knowledge
  • Pure Storage knowledge
