Role: Cloud Security Engineer with Fortigate Firewall
Location: Princeton, NJ Day 1 onsite
Duration: Contract - 6+ months and possibility for extension
Rate: $40/hr - $43/hr on W2 All Inclusive Danta Tech payroll OR $50/hr on C2C All Inclusive
End Customer: Tech Industry

Summary: The client is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer with deep hands-on experience in FortiGate firewalls and a strong grasp of network security in Azure cloud environments. The candidate must be on-site from Day 1 in Princeton, NJ, and be capable of managing firewall configurations, network security group (NSG) rules, and collaborating across teams to maintain a secure multi-cloud network setup.

The Client is Essentially Looking for:

  • A hands-on, security-focused network engineer

  • Someone who can proactively harden the firewall and prevent security lapses

  • A firewall/NOC/SOC-savvy engineer who understands Azure hybrid setups

  • Comfortable with incident response and cross-functional team collaboration


Job Description:

  • Expertise in managing and troubleshooting Fortigate firewall to ensure secure
  • Experience on Microsoft Excel
  • Regularly audit and refine NSG rules to eliminate overly permissive access and enforce least-privilege security.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues caused by firewall misconfigurations.
  • Collaborate with network teams to ensure seamless and secure connectivity between Azure, on-premises, and multi-cloud environments.
  • Monitor fortigate flow logs and analyze traffic patterns to detect anomalies or unauthorized access attempts.
  • Diagnose and resolve network connectivity issues related to fortigate policies, route tables, and security policies.
  • Work with SOC teams to investigate security incidents involving NSG bypasses or rule violations.
  • Understanding of Service now tools
