Job Summary
The Architect Consultant provides leadership and technical expertise in requirements identification, data modeling, data movement and transformation mapping (source to target), automation and testing strategies and translating business needs into technical solutions with adherence to established data guidelines and approaches from an enterprise perspective.
The Architect consultant understands and leverages best-fit technologies and approaches that align with business goals and environmental challenges, and is responsible for preparing the vision and solution outline for client engagements and overseeing and guiding the technical engagement team in the implementation of the vision for clients.
This position works closely with Senior Level Business and IT Executives, Engagement Managers, Project Managers, and participates in client assessments by preparing current state and future state architectures along with go-forward recommendations.
This position will have the opportunity to engage with clients utilizing all aspects of a Data Management organization including Data Governance, Data Quality, MDM, Data Security, Infrastructure, Business Intelligence, Advanced Analytics, Machine Learning and Data Science. You will also be working closely with Cloud, Big Data, Data Modeling, Data Engineering and Project Management consultants and must be able to work well in multi-functional and multi-shore project teams.
This position may require frequent travel to client sites in the U.S. As an Architect consultant, any given day, you may work on the following:
Pre sales projects: Work with Sales, Marketing, and Account teams on sales opportunities. This may include supporting sales calls, creating & presenting proposal and solutions, conducting demos, interacting with client stakeholders, and responding to RFP/RFI
Post sales projects: Engage as an architect and technical delivery lead on projects. This may include creating architecture design, conducting technical assessment and tool evaluation, building POC, technical team supervision, configuringinfrastructure and access management, and documentations.
Temporary project support and issue resolution: Help with various project issues and technical challenges. This may include resource backfilling, performance tuning, debugging, and
You might interact or work with: onshore/nearshore/offshore engineers and analysts, project managers and engagement managers, infrastructure and InfoSec teams, external vendor and partner teams, compliance and legal teams, internal (EXL) and external (client) stakeholders and SMEs, internal and external leadership team.
Education & Experience
7+ years of experience with BI/DW implementations in Enterprise Data Management, including 3+ years of experience in technical or solution architecture
3+ years of consulting experience
2+ years of experience working with offshore teams
2 years minimum experience with modern data architecture (Big Data, Cloud, Open source computing, etc.) Practical Architecture experience in at least 3 of the following areas: o Data Integration o Business Intelligence and Analytics o Data Quality o Cloud Platforms o Master Data Management o Big Data o Data Governance o Business and Data Analysis o Data Modeling
Experience with using major data modeling tools (examples: ERwin, ER/Studio, PowerDesigner, etc.)
Experience with using major database platforms (e.g. RDS, Snowflake, Synapse, Redshift etc.) and how they support large Lake House and Data Lake type medallion reference architectures
Experience with at least one programming or scripting language Solid experience with performance optimization
Solid understanding of various API constructs, e.g. RESTful interfaces
Experience and understanding of major Data Architecture philosophies (Dimensional, ODS, Data Vault, transactional/normalized, etc.)
Experience with Big Data best practices in the following areas:
Storage structures at base HDFS like as Avro or Parquet
Implementations of HBase/Hive/Impala/Phoenix or MongoDB, Casandra
Data processing engines such as Spark/Storm/Kafka
Hadoop Security Products – Like Ranger or Sentry
Experience with cloud architectures focused on Data Management and usage patterns
Experience with other cloud architecture like security, access management, networking, monitoring, and notifications
Understanding of Cloud Automation concepts to provision infrastructure in an automated and repeatable manner
Experience implementing a form of streaming or messaging technologies
Understanding of Traditional ETL, ELT, Data Warehousing and Data Marts is highly desirable coupled with data pipeline orchestration and enterprise scheduling Solid understanding of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle and process methodologies including CICD data pipeline automation and deployment strategies
Enterprise Architecture experience is a plus
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent

Robust knowledge of data management industry (DW, BI, BD, Cloud, MDM, DG, DQ, Data Modeling)

Ability to Architect solutions based on customer requirements
