Business Analyst
Introduction
The Business Analyst position involves leading software implementation requirement gathering sessions, documenting business, functional, and nonfunctional requirements, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
Job Summary:
The IT Analyst is responsible for identifying, defining, and documenting business requirements and functional specifications for IT projects. They will collaborate with service providers, business partners, and stakeholders to ensure alignment of expectations, deliverables, and timelines. The IT Analyst will also work with service partners to address operational service-based issues, analyze progress on service incidents and requests, and prepare performance reports for IT and business leaders.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Apply problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to resolve issues
- Measure and monitor the performance, quality, and value of IT services
- Assess the business impact of IT risks and issues
- Demonstrate strong business and budgeting skills
- Understand and comply with contractual obligations and service level agreements
- Maintain a deep understanding of the application domain
- Implement continuous improvement practices
- Assist in demand assessment and business planning
- Lead requirements elicitation, development, and management
- Engage with stakeholders to assess and validate solutions
- Consult on delivery and deployment processes
- Participate in vendor reviews and contribute to RFI and RFP processes
- Identify and recommend opportunities for process improvement
- Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required Skills:
- Experience in leading software implementation requirement gathering sessions
- Documentation of business, functional, and nonfunctional requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of project management fundamentals
- Proven track record in leading successful technical projects
- Ability to work independently across functional domains
Preferred Skills:
- PMP certification
- Experience in IT service management
- Strong business and budgeting skills
- Financial acumen
