Description
We are looking for an experienced Network Engineer to join our team in San Antonio, Texas. In this Contract to permanent position, you will play a key role in designing, optimizing, and maintaining network infrastructure and security across the organization. This role offers an exciting opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams and contribute to the efficiency and reliability of enterprise-level networks.
Responsibilities:
Design, configure, and maintain network services to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
Analyze and resolve complex network and infrastructure issues, providing advanced troubleshooting support.
Respond to escalated network-related tickets and conduct root cause analysis to prevent future occurrences.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement secure and efficient network solutions.
Develop automation tools to streamline network provisioning and administration processes.
Identify opportunities for improving network infrastructure and security, presenting recommendations to management.
Create and maintain detailed documentation and procedures for network engineering and administration.
Plan, test, and configure network infrastructure and security systems to support organizational needs.
Mentor and guide team members, fostering knowledge sharing and skill development.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering or administration within enterprise environments.
Expertise in routing protocols and Multichassis EtherChannels, including technologies such as Cisco routers and vPC.
Proven experience with security technologies like firewalls, proxies, and other related systems.
Familiarity with network virtualization, server systems, and security services.
Knowledge of network analysis tools, including SPANs, TAPs, and protocol analysis.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft applications and general IT tools.
