Role: Lead DevOps Developer
Location: Remote
Job Description
Creating a fully touchless CI/CD pipeline from code commit to production.
Consolidating all repositories into GitHub.
Migrating ~30% of services during the engagement.
Implementing enterprise-scale feature flag governance using LaunchDarkly.
Establishing automated quality gates, smoke/regression checks, canary releases, and end-to-end monitoring.
Serve as the primary driver and owner of LaunchDarkly implementation across ~150 internal developers.
Conduct workshops, onboarding, best-practice sessions, and adoption governance.
Navigate significant organizational pushback; must be able to influence and stand firm with senior engineers.
Collaborate closely with DevOps teams to align feature flag rollout with pipeline automation.
Help define patterns for progressive delivery, release strategies, deployment safety, and experimentation frameworks.
Coordinate with engineering leadership to ensure adoption across multiple squads.
Support modernization efforts tied to GitHub consolidation and CI/CD standardization.
Participate in planning discussions for migration timelines, tool adoption, and technical governance models.
Qualifications required:
Overall, 12+ years of experience required
Strong experience with LaunchDarkly or equivalent feature flagging frameworks (Split, Unleash, etc.).
Strong experience driving end-to-end technical delivery in enterprise environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead cross-team technical initiatives, drive adoption with resistant engineering groups and create and deliver workshops, governance models, and rollout plans.
Experience designing or implementing feature rollout strategies and release governance.
Strong ability to collaborate with DevOps, QA, and application teams to ensure consistent rollout of platform capabilities
Solid understanding of SDLC, release management, and software engineering practices
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build alignment across engineering stakeholders, influence senior developers and architecture teams.
Preferred/Nice to Have Skills
Hands-on DevOps engineering background.
Experience with large-scale codebase consolidation.
Prior experience with cloud environments supporting CI/CD automation.
Strong architectural understanding of microservices, service rollout strategies, and progressive delivery.
