Senior CMDB & Asset Management Administrator

Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior CMDB & Asset Management Administrator to lead the implementation and ongoing administration of our IT asset management and CMDB (Configuration Management Database) function. This is a greenfield initiative, providing the opportunity to build and shape the asset lifecycle management processes from the ground up.

You will play a key role in standing up asset management capabilities, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and executing against a strategic roadmap..

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation of IT Asset Management (ITAM) and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) capabilities.
  • Collaborate with database, cloud, and software configuration teams to align asset and configuration data.
  • Define and maintain asset lifecycle processes, standards, and documentation.
  • Manage software license tracking (Excel, visio, etc) and compliance across the organization.
  • Support Service Asset & Configuration Management (SACM) efforts.
  • Provide executional support for the CMDB and asset management roadmap defined by leadership.
  • Assist in identifying the appropriate tools and licenses for asset and configuration management systems.

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of experience in IT Asset Management and/or CMDB administration.
  • Proven track record of implementing or maturing ITAM/CMDB in enterprise environments.
  • Strong knowledge of ServiceNow or other CMDB platforms.
  • Skilled in software license management and compliance tracking.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Visio for documentation and reporting.
  • Understanding of software configuration and database management processes.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team.
