Job Details

Job Summary

  • Network & Wireless Deployment: Assist and support the team in the deployment and configuration of switches, wireless access points (AP's), and supporting infrastructure for Kennedy Library and other campus buildings. More specifically: rack, stack and patch network hardware; ensure proper labeling and documentation. In addition, support physical infrastructure cable routing, termination, and labeling.
  • Power & Environmental Monitoring: Assist and apply general knowledge with the installation and configure Power Distribution Units (PDU's), Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS's), establish environmental sensors in server rooms and telemetry reporting through network-based software tools. Specifics include support testing of the equipment and confirming it's functioning correctly and abide by department standards and procedures for network installation.
  • Space Recapture & Infrastructure Refresh: Assist and support Building 52 with the repurposing efforts through AP deployment, switch installation, and cabling coordination. Provide basic support with documenting network layout and supporting cabling teams as needed. Specifics include, removing old cables and assist with installing new network lines for classrooms. Support the relocation and mounting of wireless access points and new locations. Help with unpacking and installing switches and preparing them for usage.
  • Systems and Process Support: Apply basic knowledge, follow and apply departmental standards for equipment installation, labeling, grounding, and testing. Support the team in troubleshooting basic network and equipment issues. Specifics include, supporting the team to help route cables and label connections. Assist with floorplans, equipment lists, and cable labels.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree and one year of relevant experience.
  • Additional qualifying experience may be substituted for up to two years of the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $23.62 - $25.98 per hour

Classification Range: $23.62 - $45.47 per hour

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Anticipated Hiring Range referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Classification Range may be broader than what the University anticipates paying for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
