V-Soft Consulting is currently hiring for an Oracle RAC DBA for our premier client in Chicago, Illinois.
Education and Experience
- Experience as Oracle RAC DBA.
- Experience with RHEL ASM is required.
- Minimum 5 years of overall IT delivery of enterprise databases architecture projects such as Oracle database infrastructure design, builds, upgrades, migrations, support, and performance tuning database administrative experience.
- Working with Oracle on SRs for critical issues.
- Experience with process restart, logging, error handling and notification.
- Strong oral and written communication skills along with problem solving skills.
- Understanding and working on service tickets, incidents in Azure DevOps, JIRA, Service Now tools.
WHAT YOULL DO:
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting Data Conversions teams with source data.
- Working with multiple project implementation teams to support varying amounts of data.
- Closely working with other DBAs, application administrators, development teams, and test teams to define requirements and develop solutions to complex problems.
- Responsible for Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) administration which involves managing a cluster of multiple servers that share a single database, providing high availability, scalability, and load balancing.
- RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) administration involves the installation, configuration, and maintenance of RHEL systems using command-line tools and enterprise-level applications.
- Key tasks include user and group management, storage and file system management, network configuration, and remote system management via SSH.
- Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) requires a shared storage solution that all nodes can access supported by the Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), Oracle Automatic Storage Management (ASM).
- Responsible for the Oracle Real Application Clusters (RAC) administration, performance tuning, Database High Availability design and implementation, and PLSQL/Perl/shell programming.
- Responsible for the RHEL (Red Hat Enterprise Linux) administration, performance tuning, High Availability design and implementation, and PLSQL/Perl/shell programming.
- Responsible for tasks such as development of best practices, repeatable procedures, as well as day-to-day database activities.
