Vaco is hiring a Principal Data Visualization Consultant to join our full-time team within the Data & AI Practice. This is a senior-level role focused on delivering enterprise-grade analytics and reporting solutions using modern data visualization tools and practices, with an emphasis on performance, scale, and usability.
You’ll be embedded in complex client environments, helping architect and optimize business intelligence platforms that drive high-value decision-making. These efforts may span large-scale transformation initiatives, performance remediation, or enterprise dashboard strategy—making your impact visible across both technical and executive teams.

Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement BI solutions that are scalable, optimized, and business-ready
- Build data models with strong performance and aggregation strategies
- Optimize existing dashboards and datasets
- Evaluate and remediate inefficient Power BI assets and ensure Microsoft Fabric capacity is well-managed
- Collaborate with both technical and business stakeholders to align reporting strategy with goals
- Guide clients in implementing best practices across the BI lifecycle
- Act as a mentor to junior consultants and support the growth of Vaco’s data visualization capability
What You Bring:
- Proven expertise in Power BI or Tableau architecture, development, and performance tuning
- Hands-on experience integrating with Databricks, Snowflake or Microsoft Fabric for BI and analytics
- Deep understanding of data modeling, DAX, query folding, and Fabric optimization
- Track record of leading enterprise-scale BI projects or performance remediation efforts
- Excellent communication and presentation skills across business and IT audiences
- Consulting, enterprise IT, or professional services experience preferred
Bonus Experience:
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, BI governance, and metadata management
- Industry background in financial services, media, or high-data-volume environments
- Exposure to Microsoft Azure, AWS, or GCP, hybrid data ecosystems, or cloud modernization initiatives
- Python experience
