Key Responsibilities
- Engineer scalable pipelines with SQL, PySpark, Delta Live Tables, and Databricks Workflows
- Orchestrate workflows with Airflow or Databricks Jobs, with SLA - aware retries and alerting
- Model data using dimensional schemas, Unity Catalog, and Great Expectations
- Build Power BI dashboards, semantic models, paginated reports, and fine-grained security layers
- Migrate SSRS reports to Power BI - preserving all business logic and compliance constraints
- Optimize cost and performance - cache tuning, partitioning, capacity management
- Document everything - pipeline logic, DAX rules, RLS - stored in Git and versioned formats
- Collaborate across teams to translate product analytics into governed BI assets
- Mentor teammates by reviewing notebooks, dashboards, and platform standards
Must-Have Skills
- 7+ years in analytics engineering; 3+ in Databricks/Spark environments
- Advanced SQL (window functions, joins), expert PySpark, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog
- Deep Power BI skills - DAX, RLS, paginated reports, semantic modeling
- Proven SSRS-to-Power BI migration experience (replicating RDL logic)
- Strong with Git, CI/CD, and public cloud (Azure/AWS)
- Clear communicator - able to bridge technical teams and business stakeholders
