The Application Specialist V shall provide technical support and development for all applications and software products used within the federal agency. The vendor is responsible for ensuring all contract personnel possess and maintain current professional certifications or are trained in the specific categories listed below during the execution of this task order.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor application performance and availability to ensure optimal operation.
  • Provide second- and third-level support for application incidents and service requests.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve application issues promptly.
  • Collaborate with business users to understand issues and gather requirements.
  • Perform root cause analysis of recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
  • Manage and maintain application documentation, including support procedures and user guides.
  • Coordinate with vendors or third-party providers for issue resolution.
  • Conduct regular system health checks and maintenance activities.
  • Deploy patches, fixes, and upgrades as required, ensuring minimal downtime.
  • Maintain compliance with organizational IT policies and security standards.
  • Escalate unresolved issues to development or infrastructure teams with detailed logs and impact analysis.
  • Analyze business requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including QA, business analysts, and infrastructure.
  • Document development processes, code changes, and configurations.
  • Stay updated on new technologies and frameworks relevant to the application environment.
  • Applications in use - Microsoft Server technologies, Azure, SharePoint, Power BI, IBM Maximo Application Suite (including Maximo reporting technology), SAP Business Objects and Crystal Reports, ColdFusion, and .NET.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years required with additional experience in corporate or government as a programmer analyst.
  • 2+ years of experience in visual basic ASP.NET, C++, CSS, jQuery, and C+. Has experience with MS SharePoint Designer, InfoPath, Web Parts, and workflow creation.
  • Background check required

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Experience with client object modeling and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience with analysis and design of MS SharePoint application services framework, including implementation, configuration, and usage of search, managed metadata, and user profile services.
  • Experience in graphics design and .NET technologies to develop, modify, and maintain MS SharePoint server portals.
  • Experience in designing, developing, and managing site content and capabilities.
  • Experience in writing stored procedures, complex SQL queries, and analyzing SQL data.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, presentations).
  • Excellent organization, analytical, planning, and scheduling skills.
  • Ability to resolve highly complex problems.
  • Reporting personnel require experience and expertise with Crystal Reports, versions 10 and above, Business Objects Enterprise, Tableau, and SQL tuning methodology.
