Network & Systems Administrator

12-Contract Hybrid Position

Location: Goleta, CA

Overview

Network & Systems Admin to support IT operations across multiple AMETEK business unit locations. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with a strong customer-service mindset. You’ll install, configure, and troubleshoot networks and systems, support end-users, and ensure the stability, security, and performance of our enterprise environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Install, configure, and troubleshoot networks, servers, and hardware.
  • Perform diagnostics to resolve network and system issues.
  • Maintain and upgrade VMware, Windows Server, SQL Server, and Active Directory environments.
  • Configure security, rights, directory structures, and access controls.
  • Provide responsive technical support and training to end-users.
  • Manage user accounts, environments, and permissions.
  • Monitor system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Document changes, updates, and procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors to deliver reliable solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with IT standards and security practices.

Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of IT/network support or systems administration experience.
  • Expertise with VMware, Windows Server, SQL Server, Active Directory.
  • Strong understanding of TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS.
  • Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
