Position: Workday FINS Manager
Location: Chicago IL, 3-4 days and would like this person to be onsite 5 days starting October 1st
Duration: 6 months, strong likelihood to extend past 6 months

MUST:
  • The role will focus on supporting the Workday platform, it's a backfill due to a few team members being on leave. Will go till the end of the year but again a few folks a going on leave throughout the next few months so strong potential of being extended till next year if the candidate is able to provide more value to adaptive planning and BAU, can introduce enhancements to extend longer.
  • The role will sit within the Finance team
  • Managing and administering the Workday Financials platform, including core security and Adaptive Planning (Workday s budgeting tool).
  • Handling BAU tasks, including responding to tickets, deploying updates to production, and driving enhancements that add value to existing processes.
  • Acting as a bridge between the technical and business sides, with a hybrid functional-technical approach.
  • Supporting both ongoing operations and potential upgrades/enhancements, particularly in Adaptive Planning, which becomes more active toward year-end.
  • Need 7 years experience and at least 4 years experience with Workday specifically.
  • Need Workday Financials, Biz processes, adaptive planning, security,
    • Not a ton in adaptive now.
    • Financials/Biz processes/Security are equally weighted.
  • Workday Admin but emphasis on those areas. Need the admin skills, but also has to understand the business side.
  • Variety of BA work, deploying to production.
  • Change requests, Enhancements requests,
  • Managing and acting as an administrator for the platform. Needs to do some admin/troubleshooting work.
  • Needs to be more technical but needs to understand the functional side of the business and how that affects the platform.
  • Strong comms with all parts of the business.
  • Strong understanding of escalation and delegation to other areas.
Job Description: Responsibilities:
  • Manage the continuous development, optimization, and security of the Workday platform.
  • Ensure data integrity and accuracy within Workday through regular audits and maintenance activities.
  • Develop and generate meaningful reports and analytics to support business decision-making.
  • Provide vision and oversight to departmental operations and initiatives related to Workday.
  • Evaluate current system configuration and respond to requests or inquiries on system capabilities.
  • Identify areas of improvement. Recommend, develop, and configure system solutions. Test new functionality and ensure successful implementation of new and improved solutions.
  • Coordinate and participate in system upgrades and system testing to ensure functionality and security are working as expected/designed. Create detailed test plans, define various scenarios and execute test plans. Coordinates user acceptance testing and other testing with appropriate groups.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address data-related inquiries and resolve issues.
  • Stay up-to-date with Workday updates and enhancements. Implement best practices accordingly.
  • Provide training and support to end-users on Workday functionalities and processes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Management Information Systems, Finance/Accounting, or a related field.
  • 7+ years work experience, with a minimum of 4 years of FINs/Workday experience.
  • Proficiency in Workday Reporting, Workday Security, Workday Business Process Framework and Workday Adaptive Planning
  • Experience implementing and/or optimizing the use of Workday Adaptive Planning, including collaborating and coordinating best practices with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Experience diagnosing, isolating, and resolving issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems.
  • Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Workday certification(s) are a plus.
