Stantec is seeking a CAD Specialist to support transportation projects in California. Your Key Responsibilities
  • Under the supervision of the production CAD Manager your key responsibilities will include:
  • Working with project leads to support drawing production of transportation projects including roads, bridges, railroads and others.
  • Work efficiently with minimal supervision.
  • Becoming familiar with client CAD standards and ensuring all drawing production is compliant.
  • Working with CAD Manager to establish CAD standards, file structures, reference file management and workspaces for various projects.
  • Maintaining communication with other CAD staff and discipline leads within the organization to ensure consistent practices & standards.
  • Participate in periodic CAD staff meetings and technical CAD workshops for CAD staff.
  • Staying current with new CAD technology, trends, tools, and practices in the industry through reading technical articles and attending occasional workshops & seminars.
  • Regularly reviewing and becoming familiar with CAD standards of both Stantec and Stantec's clients.
  • Support final archiving of CAD, model, and other design related documents / files at the completion of projects / pursuits.
  • Some travel may be required.
  • Effective communication skills with managers and team members is important.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
  • Proficient use of MicroStation and Open Roads
  • Proficient use of AutoCad and Civil 3D
  • Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite
  • Education and Experience
  • Engineering or Architecture Design Degree or Drafting Diploma is desired.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience working on large-scale transportation projects.
  • Additional experience may be substituted for a diploma or degree.

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
