Job Description:
Job Title: NERC CIP Compliance Lead
Location: San Diego, CA (Hybrid local candidates only) Contract Duration: 12 months
Rate: 80-90/hr plus
Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned NERC CIP Compliance Lead to oversee and enhance our NERC CIP compliance program. This role is pivotal in ensuring continuous audit readiness, aligning policies with NERC standards, and managing compliance tooling (such as SigmaFlow). The ideal candidate is a technically fluent compliance leader with deep knowledge of NERC CIP and the ability to guide a team of analysts.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide technical and compliance leadership across the NERC CIP engagement Oversee and guide the day-to-day work of CIP compliance analysts Drive the development of a control testing framework, including evidence standards and reporting Manage the design and configuration of compliance platforms like SigmaFlow Serve as the primary point of contact during regulatory audits Deliver real-time compliance posture reporting to executive stakeholders Perform gap assessments against NERC CIP standards, policies, and procedures Support access management processes (provisioning, recertification, revocation) Align internal policies and procedures with NERC CIP requirements Required Qualifications:
7+ years of experience working with NERC CIP standards and compliance
Proven experience leading control testing, audit preparation, and evidence collection Hands-on experience with compliance tools (preferably SigmaFlow) Strong understanding of identity and access management (IAM) as it applies to CIP Excellent documentation, organizational, and communication skills Prior experience in a regulated utility environment preferred Work Requirements:
Must be available for a hybrid work schedule (on-site and remote)
