We have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for you to take your software engineering career to the next level.
As a DevOps Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Technology Line of Business, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will provide On-Prem and AWS Cloud Support with End-to-End Delivery Support. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.
Our Corporate Technology team relies on smart, driven people like you to develop applications and provide tech support for all our corporate functions across our network. Your efforts will touch lives all over the financial spectrum and across all our divisions: Global Finance, Corporate Treasury, Risk Management, Human Resources, Compliance, Legal, and within the Corporate Administrative Office. You'll be part of a team specifically built to meet and exceed our evolving technology needs, as well as our technology controls agenda.

Job responsibilities
- Ensures critical Engineering automations that help keep cutting edge applications with strict real-time SLAs.
- Develop applications and provide tech support for all our corporate functions across Corporate Sector Network.
- Executes software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems
- Creates secure and high-quality production code and maintains algorithms that run synchronously with appropriate systems
- Produces architecture and design artifacts for complex applications while being accountable for ensuring design constraints are met by software code development
- Gathers, analyzes, synthesizes, and develops visualizations and reporting from large, diverse data sets in service of continuous improvement of software applications and systems
- Proactively identifies hidden problems and patterns in data and uses these insights to drive improvements to coding hygiene and system architecture
- Contributes to software engineering communities of practice and events that explore new and emerging technologies
- Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience.
- Diagnose and fix application issues. Concept and working experience in private cloud (i.e., enterprise specific cloud themes).
- Experience in Orchestration (e.g., Autosys, Airflow, Control-M, Oozie, etc.). Control-M experience is mandatory.
- Mandatory - Database exposure and intermediate level SQL skills to be able to query and manage Oracle, Aurora etc.
- Hands on expertise in AWS Services and Tools - esp. Athena, RDS/Aurora, Redshift, EMR, EC2, S3, Lambda.
- Experience working with Third Party Vendor Data Management Systems and resolving Trouble Tickets using DevOps Process.
- Hands-on practical experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
- Proficient in coding in one or more languages i.e. Java, Scala, Python, Shell Scripts
- Experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a large corporate environment with one or more modern programming languages and database querying languages
- Experience in logging changes in Incident Management system and effectively Communication/Coordination with Stakeholders
- Demonstrated knowledge of software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with database technologies - Oracle/MySQL.
- Exposure to SRE/DevOps practices (SLA/SLOs, error budgets, MTTR, MTTD).
- Exposure to AI/Automation technologies that improve operations with knowledge of ITIL, and Agile methodologies.
- Experience with containers and orchestration (Dockers, Kubernetes).
- AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect Associate).
- Familiar with development tools such as IntelliJ, Bitbucket, Sql Developer/Toad, JIRA, Jenkins with knowledge of building Rest API (microservices) with Spring, Spring boot (or Python) is a plus.
- Hands on experience with Spinnaker, Jenkins, Terraform, Splunk and/or Grafana and similar SDLC and Monitoring Tools like Cloud Watch or Dynatrace is a plus
