Job Title: Senior Applications System Engineer
Location: Alpharetta, GA 30009
Contract: 6+ Months
On-site: Monday to Friday


Job Description

< data-end="313" data-start="264">Evaluate, Install, Configure, and Deploy</>
  • Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy applications, systems software, products, and/or enhancements to existing applications.

< data-end="476" data-start="446">System Administration</>
  • Performs system administration on designated technology platforms, including operating systems, applications and network devices, in accordance with the defined policies, standards and procedures of the organization, as well as with industry best practices and vendor guidelines.

  • Performs installation and configuration management of systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools.

  • Collaborate with analysts and system owners in the testing of all applications.

  • Ensure that any integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

< data-end="1190" data-start="1143">Monitoring, Troubleshooting & Upgrades</>
  • Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of the applications.

  • Manage support tickets daily.

  • Install and configure patches and upgrades as required.

  • Provide direction for the application team in support of operations.

< data-end="1473" data-start="1427">Feasibility Studies & Recommendations</>
  • Coordinate feasibility studies for products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.


Provide Application Support for Key Colonial Applications

  • Serve as a primary support resource for any issues reported in relevant applications.

  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues related to applications and databases.

  • Troubleshoot issues and work to resolve or escalate to a vendor support resource.

  • Liaise with company s suppliers for prompt rectification of any problems or emergencies.

  • Report status and resolution back to ticket owner and meet support ticket SLAs.

  • Provide issue root cause analysis at the resolution of each issue.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with users, developers, application and support vendors, and other IT teams.


Provide Application Analysis and Selection Support

  • Ensure that applications/software meets business requirements and goals, fulfills user requirements, and identifies and resolves systems issues.

  • Develops and oversee the change management process for changes affecting relevant applications.


Support Application Project and Deployment

  • Provide project testing support for application enhancements and deployments.

  • Facilitate meetings with product owners and business analysis team to identify and prioritize user requirements based on business needs.

  • Provide estimates of application configuration to product teams.

  • Assist the product owner and business analyst in describing their business need and then work together with them to produce a documented use case.

  • Document user stories.

  • Validate and recommend changes to requirements documentation for specificity and accuracy.

  • Work with 3rd Party service providers on application deployment, patches, and fixes.

  • Plan release using runbook.

  • Perform testing steps to verify successful release.


Technical Skills

Must Have (5-7 years of experience in):

  • Application support

  • Database administration

  • Business systems analysis

  • Application administration skills for:

    • Microsoft applications

    • Oracle DB and Oracle applications

    • SQL DB

    • CRM, ERP, or financial platforms

Nice To Have

  • Oracle Certified Associate (OCA) or other certification in any application platform or database

  • Oracle database and Oracle application administration experience

  • Project Management experience

Education

  • Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline
