Responsibilities:
Strong Understanding of AD Architecture: In-depth knowledge of Active Directory Domain Services (AD DS), domain controllers, forests, trees, sites, and replication mechanisms.
Group Policy Management: Expertise in creating, managing, and troubleshooting Group Policies (GPOs) to enforce security settings and configurations across the domain.
Discovery, analysis, and recommendations for management of user objects, including privileged accounts, service accounts, bot objects, and contact objects.
Discovery, analysis, and recommendations for management of group objects, including the reduction of nested groups, identifying group ownership, populating group descriptions, and stale groups.
Discovery, analysis, and recommendations of distribution lists and dynamic groups.
Define governance policies around group creation and management, development of group naming conventions, and disabled account removal.
Discovery, analysis, and recommendations of computer objects.
Develop process to identify group ownership and other pertinent details.
Develop and execute scripts to perform user and group object cleanup.
Security Practices: Familiarity with AD security best practices, including configuring and managing Organizational Units (OUs), permissions, delegation, and auditing.
PowerShell Scripting: Proficiency in PowerShell for automating AD tasks, managing users and computers, and performing bulk changes.
Troubleshooting Skills: Ability to diagnose and resolve typical AD issues, such as replication failures, authentication problems, and trust issues.
