Position Title: Senior Network Engineer
Location: Springfield, VA
Clearance Required: Active Top Secret with SCI eligibility (must exist at start)
Polygraph: Must be able to obtain and maintain a Counterintelligence (CI) Polygraph
We are seeking a career and customer-oriented Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Springfield, VA. This role:

Provides subject matter expertise (SME), mentorship, on-the-job training, and operational support within the customer's IT networking enterprise architecture

Supports Networking and Communications Operations and Maintenance (O&M) team
-
Is responsible for engineering and operational tasks related to the design, deployment, and optimization of enterprise and data center networks
-
Translates stakeholder and Government requirements into network solutions, and supports upgrades, reconfigurations, acquisitions, installations, and testing
-
Applies current and emerging technologies to resolve complex network engineering challenges
-
Supports and oversees O&M activities using technologies such as Cisco, Juniper, Riverbed, and SolarWinds
-
Serves as the highest escalation tier for network issues, guiding troubleshooting and conducting Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
-
Maintains as-built documentation and performance plans for network systems
-
Collaborates with IT Architecture and Engineering (A&E) teams for technology assessments and modernization initiatives
-
Requires approximately 15% annual travel

Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Data Center certification (Required)
-
One of the following: CompTIA Security+ ce, GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), or SSCP
-
Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in network engineering across multi-platform IT systems
-
7+ years experience with enterprise-level Cisco hardware and technologies (IOS, NX-OS, ACI; Voice, Video, Routing, Switching, Security)
-
5+ years experience with Cisco Routing & Switching protocols (e.g., BGP, EIGRP, ICMP, HSRP, OSPF, QoS, STP, VPC, VRF)
-
5+ years experience in network traffic analysis, topology design, load balancing, and secure/fault-tolerant architecture
-
Experience with secure networking devices (e.g., Taclanes, Border Guards) and security technologies (e.g., Next Gen Firewalls, ACLs)
-
Familiarity with DISA SRGs, STIGs, and U.S. Government IA/security compliance
-
Proven leadership of geographically dispersed teams and task execution
-
Strong troubleshooting and network monitoring proficiency
-
Meets CSWF Network Operations Specialist (441), Intermediate Level per SECNAV M-5239.2
-
CCNP in Routing & Switching, Collaboration, or Security
-
Certifications in Juniper and Riverbed technologies
-
Deep understanding of Cisco data center, LAN/WAN, and security solutions
-
Experience supporting secure enterprise network implementation and sustainment
-
Familiarity with Cisco ASA and other security appliances
-
Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and COOP operations
-
Experience with Riverbed Steelhead (WAN Optimization/DPI)
-
Experience with Juniper Firewalls and VPNs
-
Knowledge of CUCM, TMS, and VCS for Unified Communications
-
Experience with SolarWinds NCM
-
Background in mentoring and on-the-job training
-
Familiarity with Cisco DCNM and/or ACI for SDN and Secure Multi-Tenancy
